NoMowMay?

There are many ways to help insects to survive. I would like to mention just a few:

Food

Leave a part of your garden roam “free”. Seed wildflowers to help jumstart a new environment. Start with one square meter and then add another next year 🙂

For the rest of your lawn: NoMowMay, which means do not mow before June. This is actually a new grass roots organisation. More here. I’ve printed the sign above, laminated it and stuck it in our lawn, so our neighbours will not think, we’re lazy…

Shelter

Leave some dense bush around your “free” patch for insects to hide. Put up a bee hotel. Educate yourself.
